The SSU has documented subversive activities of an official of Ukrenergo, a Ukrainian electricity transmission system operator, who justified russia’s armed aggression.

The person in question is one of the heads of the security department of the state-owned enterprise, who was responsible for protection of strategically important facilities of Ukraine’s United Energy System.

In conversations with colleagues and friends, the official tried to justify ruscists’ war crimes, including air attacks on our civilian infrastructure.

During such phone calls, he also leaked information on the consequences of drone strikes on Ukrainian energy facilities.

The official praised the kremlin regime and questioned the existence of the state of Ukraine. Moreover, he personally expressed his desire for mass murder of Ukrainians.

The SSU’s cyber units documented his criminal actions and detained him at his home in Kyiv.

An SSU-initiated linguistic examination confirmed the official’s illegal activities.

Based on the evidence, the SSU served the detainee a notice of suspicion under Article 436-2.3 of the CCU (justification, recognition as lawful, denial of russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine, glorification of its participants, committed by an official).

The suspect faces up to eight years in prison with confiscation of property.

The investigation is ongoing to establish all the circumstances, including the unauthorized dissemination of information constituting a state secret.

The operation was carried out under the procedural supervision of Kyiv Region Prosecutor’s Office.
