SSU detains Ukrzaliznytsia official who spied on AFU’s military echelons in Dnipropetrovsk region (video)
As a result of a special operation in Dnipro, the SSU Counterintelligence detained another FSB agent – an official of one of the junction stations of Ukrzaliznytsia [Ukrainian Railways].
On the aggressor’s instructions, he was collecting information on the railway routes used to transport military equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The enemy informant also tried to identify numbers and types of the weapons delivered by rail.
To do this, the agent recorded the place and time of passage of military echelons and tried to find out their routes with stops and destinations.
Above all, the spy tried to get as much information as possible about the transfer of Bradley fighting vehicles and Leopard tanks to the front.
The invaders needed data to prepare air strikes on railway facilities in the region.
In this way, they hoped to disrupt the logistics of supplying weapons and ammunition for Ukraine’s Defence Forces.
However, the SSU uncovered the enemy agent in time, documented his crimes and apprehended him at his home.
According to the investigation, the suspect was recruited remotely by the FSB in the summer 2023.
His support for russia’s armed aggression in the pro-kremlin Telegram channels brought him to the attention of the enemy service.
The asset used an anonymous chat in a messenger app to communicate with the FSB.
During the searches at the suspect’s home, the SSU seized mobile phones used by him for reconnaissance and sabotage.
Based on the evidence, SSU investigators served the detainee a notice of suspicion under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason, committed under martial law).
The suspect is in custody and faces life imprisonment. The investigation is ongoing.
The operation was carried out by the SSU Office in Dnipropetrovsk region with the assistance of Ukrzaliznytsia JSC and under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
