Vinnytsia region: SSU detains russian agent for preparing air strikes on Ukrzaliznytsia facilities

The SSU exposed an fsb agent who was preparing a series of russian air attacks on transport and energy infrastructure facilities in Vinnytsia region.

To fulfill the enemy's task, the traitor was scouting the locations of railway junction stations that could be used to transport heavy weapons and ammunition of the Armed Forces of Ukraine towards the front line.

In addition, the offender tried to establish the location and technical conditions of key power substations in the region.

The collected intelligence with exact coordinates, georeferenced data and photos of Ukrainian facilities had to be sent to an fsb "supervisor" via an anonymous email.

According to the suspect, the occupiers planned to attack the critical infrastructure of the region using missile weapons and kamikaze drones.

In case of a successful hostile operation, the russian special service "guaranteed" its agent RUB 100,000 of reward transferred on his bank card.

In addition, after completing the task, the offender hoped that the fsb would "evacuate" him to Russia.

However, SSU officers prevented the aggressor's plans and detained the agent while gathering intelligence.

According to the investigation, the detainee is a 57-year-old resident of the Khmilnyk district, who was remotely recruited by the russian special service in May this year.

He attracted the attention of the fsb while posting pro-kremlin views on Odnoklassniki social network.

During the search, the suspect was seized of a mobile phone used to communicate with the aggressor.

Based on the collected evidence, the SSU investigators served the detainee a notice of suspicion under Part 2 Art. 111 of the CCU (high treason committed under martial law).

He is currently in custody facing life imprisonment. The investigation is ongoing.

The operation was carried out by the SSU Office in Vinnytsia region under the supervision of the regional Prosecutor Office.
