SSU detains russian agent who adjusted missile strikes on Kharkiv

In Kharkiv, the SSU exposed another enemy accomplice.

The offender collected information on locations and movement of the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the city.

He passed the gathered data to occupiers in the form of coordinates and marks on the map via Telegram messaging app.

The invaders needed the intelligence to prepare and carry out targeted missile strikes on Kharkiv.

The SSU detained the russian agent near a critical infrastructure facility in the city on an attempt to collect classified data for the enemy.

According to the investigation, the aggressor’s accomplice is an unemployed local, whom russians involved in the unlawful activity in November 2022.

To execute the enemy assignments, the agent walked around the city and covertly surveilled units of Ukrainian defenders and recorded their locations.

During the investigation, the SSU seized a smartphone from the suspect with evidence of communication with the aggressor.

SSU investigators served the detainee a notice of suspicion under the Article 114-2.3 of the CCU (unauthorized dissemination of information on the location of the AFU).

Court chose custody as a measure of restraint.

The offender is facing up to 12 years in prison.

The SSU Office in Kharkiv region carried out the operational and investigative activities under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
