SSU detains russian agent who helped enemy carry out missile strikes on Ukrainian positions on eastern front (video)

The SSU has detained a russian agent, who provided the enemy with data on targets for rocket strikes in Donetsk region and reported to his handlers about the consequences of the hits.

The traitor is a resident of Bakhmut, recruited by a serving member of the FSB’s 5th service after the start of russia’s full-scale invasion. The ‘offer’ to work for the russian special service was sent to his phone via a messenger app.

The investigation established that the russian supervisor gave him an operational nickname Syvyi and tasked to collect intelligence on deployment of personnel and military equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on eastern direction.

The agent transmitted information through secure communication channels, carefully concealing his cooperation with the aggressor. His messages included electronic geolocations of targets with additional supporting photos and videos.

During the search, investigators seized from the suspect communication devices with evidence of passing intelligence to the enemy.

The perpetrator has been notified of suspicion of treason committed under martial law. Court has decided to keep the detainee in custody.

The operation was carried out by the SSU Office in Vinnytsia region in cooperation with the SSU Office in Donetsk and Luhansk regions and the SSU Counterintelligence Department under the procedural supervision of Vinnytsia Region Prosecutor’s Office.
