SSU detains enemy informant hunting for air defence and HIMARS near Sloviansk

As a result of counter-sabotage efforts in Donetsk region, the SSU detained another informant of the FSB. The traitor revealed to the enemy the locations of the Defence Forces’ units involved in combat operations on the eastern front.

Primarily, the aggressor’s accomplice tried to identify locations of Ukrainian air defence complexes and multiple launch rocket systems, including M142 HIMARS.

The spy was also looking for sites near Sloviansk with large concentrations of personnel and military equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

He sent the data through a channel in a messenger app administered by the ‘DNR’s ministry of state security’.

However, due to a prompt response, the SSU derailed enemy’s plans to carry out strikes on Ukrainian targets.

According to the investigation, the perpetrator is a 43-year-old local resident who supported russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine. He wrote about this in pro-kremlin Telegram channels multiple times.

Then, the man began to provide classified information on bases and approximate numbers of Ukrainian troops near Sloviansk to the FSB chatbot.

To collect the intelligence, he walked in the city and surrounding villages and covertly recorded locations and routes of the AFU units.

During the search, the SSU seized a mobile phone from the suspect, which he used for reconnaissance and sabotage against Ukraine.

SSU investigators served the detainee a notice of suspicion under Article 114-2.3 of the CCU (unauthorized dissemination of information on movement, transfer or deployment of the AFU, committed under martial law).

The suspect is in custody and faces up to 12 years in prison.

The operation was carried out by the SSU Office in Donetsk and Luhansk regions under the procedural supervision of Donetsk Region Prosecutor’s Office.
