SSU detains enemy informant who passed geolocation of Ukrainian troops in Sloviansk to FSB chatbot
The SSU has detained another FSB informant who collected intelligence on locations of Ukraine’s Defence Forces in the frontline areas of Donetsk region.
His priority was to identify locations of heavy weapons and foreign-made armoured vehicles in Sloviansk.
The spy sent the data to the FSB’s chatbot, which the russian service created to gather information on Ukrainian defenders.
The occupiers needed the data to prepare new air strikes on the AFU units near the front line.
As a result of a counter-sabotage operation, the SSU detained the informant near his house and seized the phone he used to communicate with the FSB.
According to the investigation, the enemy accomplice is an employee of a plant in Sloviansk and was recruited remotely by the FSB.
The man came to their attention as an active user of pro-kremlin Internet communities, where he posted his anti-Ukrainian comments.
SSU investigators have now served the detained informant a notice of suspicion under Article 114-2.2 of the CCU (dissemination of information on transfer, movement or deployment of the AFU or other lawful military formations).
The suspect is in custody, facing up to 8 years in prison.
The SSU Office in Donetsk and Luhansk regions carried out the operation under the procedural supervision of Donetsk Region Prosecutor’s Office.
