SSU detains enemy informant who adjusted strikes on Ukrainian troops during counteroffensive near Bakhmut
The SSU has apprehended another FSB agent adjusting russian air attacks on the Defence Forces in Donetsk region.
The occupiers’ main targets were the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine involved in counteroffensive operations near Bakhmut.
The SSU identified that the woman had handed over to the aggressor 8 locations of Ukrainian troops moving towards the frontline.
However, the spy was exposed at the initial stage of her criminal activity, and the SSU timely informed the AFU Command on potential threats.
After that, measures were taken to protect Ukrainian defenders, and the russian asset was detained on her attempt to pass new intelligence to the aggressor.
According to the investigation, the enemy accomplice is a resident of Toretsk, recruited remotely by the russian intelligence earlier this year.
To engage the woman in covert cooperation, the invaders used another traitor from the temporarily occupied part of the region. She was a friend of the agent-to-be and an employee of the occupation ‘FSB office in the DNR’.
On her instructions, the newly recruited asset walked in the city and surrounding areas and secretly spied on Ukrainian military facilities.
She sent the collected information using a messenger app and after that immediately deleted the messages.
Based on the evidence, SSU investigators served the detainee a notice of suspicion under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason committed under martial law).
The suspect is currently in custody, facing life imprisonment.
The operation was carried out by the SSU Office in Donetsk and Luhansk regions under the procedural supervision of Donetsk Region Prosecutor’s Office.
