SSU detains russian agent who adjusted enemy missile attack on school in Donetsk region

The SSU Counterintelligence detained another member of the FSB’s extensive agent network in the frontline areas of Donetsk oblast.

The woman was collecting intelligence for the occupiers on locations and routes of the Defence Forces near Kramatorsk, Kostiantynivka and Toretsk.

The traitor also passed coordinates of local schools and kindergartens to the aggressor.

Using her ‘information’, russians launched a missile attack on one of the educational institutions in August 2022.

The air strike destroyed the local school.

After the attack, the agent went to the scene, recorded the consequences and informed the russian special service.

According to the investigation, the spy is a resident of a frontline Ukrainian town and was recruited by the FSB after the start of the full-scale invasion.

Fulfilling enemy assignments, the woman passed information on location of Ukrainian targets to the ruscists via a messenger in the form of electronic coordinates or georeferenced photos.

In case the region is captured, the enemy promised the agent a ‘position’ in the local occupation administration.

During the search of the suspect’s home, the SSU found the mobile phones she used for communication with her handler and transmitting collected intelligence.

Based on the collected evidence, SSU investigators served the detained individual a notice of suspicion under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason committed under martial law).

The court chose custody as a measure of restraint. The investigation is ongoing.

The SSU Office in Vinnytsia region carried out the activities under the supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
