SSU detains another 4 enemy agitators, including tiktoker praising recent Iskander strike on Kharkiv
The SSU has exposed another four pro-russian Internet agitators operating in different regions of Ukraine. They glorified russian air attacks on Ukraine’s civilian infrastructure and discredited the Defense Forces’ command.
The perpetrators called to surrender to the aggressor state and incited hatred among Ukraine’s national communities.
Odesa:
a local blogger was detained after posting a video on TikTok justifying russia’s air attack on Kharkiv on January 2 this year.
Then, the occupiers launched Iskander missiles at the city, which resulted in a large number of casualties.
Despite this, the blogger tried to justify the invaders’ war crime to his 12,000 subscribers. On the same day, this fake was broadcasted on russian TV and was picked up by enemy propaganda media.
Kyiv region:
SSU cyber units identified a local woman who in her Facebook and Telegram accounts agitated Ukrainians to ‘lay down weapons’ and not resist the ruscists.
She also used the Internet resources to spread fakes about national communities in Ukraine.
Cherkasy region:
The SSU Counterintelligence exposed a local resident who supported the occupation of Crimea and parts of Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
Having a residence permit in russia, the man glorified russian invaders and denied their war crimes in Ukraine.
Dnipro:
The SSU detained the coordinator of the local cell of the pro-kremlin organization ‘narodovladdia’ [people’s power]. On behalf of the ‘civil association’, he published fakes about local religious communities on social media.
He also spread disinformation about the Security and Defense Forces activities in the frontline region.
The persons involved in the above cases have been notified of suspicion under Article 436-2.2, 436-2.3 of the CCU (justification, recognition as legitimate, denial of russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine, glorification of its participants).
The criminal actions of two of the agitators have also been qualified under Article 161.1 of the CCU (violation of equality of citizens based on their race, nationality, region, religious beliefs and other grounds).
The suspects face up to 8 years in prison with property confiscation.
The operations were conducted by the SSU Offices in Kyiv and Kyiv region, Dnipropetrovsk, Odesa and Cherkasy regions under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office.
