SSU detains two collaborators in Kharkiv region, including ‘accountant’ responsible for occupation administration salaries

The SSU has apprehended another two collaborators in Kharkiv region who cooperated with russia at the beginning of the full-scale invasion.

One of them is a 54-year-old resident of Merefa. After the seizure of the area, she moved to the then-occupied Kupiansk and joined the local occupation administration.

She was appointed an ‘accountant of the finance department’ of the occupying institution.

On the instructions of the local gauleiter, from July to September 2022 the ‘official’ was working to provide financial and logistical support for the russian occupation authorities.

The ‘accountant’ calculated ‘salaries’ in russian rubles and disposed of the seized property of Ukrainian state institutions for russia’s benefit.

Another collaborator is a 48-year-old resident of Chuhuiv district who helped the occupiers prepare the sham referendum after part of the community was seized.

To do this, the woman visited the households and urged to obtain russian passports.

She also called people to re-register their land plots in accordance with the russian ‘legislation’. For this, she promised her fellow villagers support from the invaders.

After the de-occupation, both perpetrators tried to evade justice.

One of them moved to Kharkiv, hoping to ‘get lost’ in a big city as an IDP. The SSU found and apprehended her in a rented apartment.

The other one was hiding at her home in Merefa, where she was later detained.

Both detainees were notified of suspicion under Article 111-1.2 of the CCU (collaboration).

The operations were carried out by the SSU Office in Kharkiv region jointly with the National Police under the procedural supervision of Kharkiv Region and Chuhuiv District Prosecutor’s Offices.
