SSU detains another informant of russia’s GRU in Mykolaiv
The SSU has apprehended another informant of the russian military intelligence (‘the GRU’) in Mykolaiv. He was adjusting enemy missile and drone attacks on the city, praising putin and expecting the occupation of the region.
The perpetrator is a 43-year-old local resident.
In May 2014, he left his military unit without permission. Then, the court sentenced him to a fine.
After the onset of the full-scale war, the traitor became active in the chats of russian Telegram channels, showing his support for ruscism and russia’s armed aggression.
In this way, he came to the GRU’s attention. They began communication through the popular messenger app.
To carry out enemy assignments, the asset walked around the city and covertly recorded locations of Ukrainian defenders.
The SSU detained him at his home.
SSU investigators served the detainee a notice of suspicion under Article 114-2.3 of the CCU (unauthorized dissemination of information on movement or location of the AFU and other lawful military formations, committed under martial law).
The suspect is in custody and faces up to 12 years in prison.
The operation was carried out by the SSU Mykolaiv Office under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
