SSU detains guard of former russian torture chamber in Kherson

The SSU has apprehended another collaborator in the liberated Kherson. When russia launched its full-scale invasion and occupied the city, the traitor voluntarily helped ruscists imprison and torture members of the local resistance movement.

The enemy’s accomplice is a pro-russian local resident. During the temporary occupation, he applied to the ‘employment centre’ established by the aggressor.

The man was offered a position of ‘junior inspector of the security unit’ in the then-captured ‘penal colony No 90’, which the invaders used to imprison detainees.

Having agreed to the ‘offer’, he voluntarily wrote an ‘application’ to join the ‘institution’.

According to the investigation, the collaborator personally participated in searches and interrogations of Ukrainians. Torture was used to force victims to cooperate with the occupiers.

After Kherson’s liberation, the enemy accomplice tried to ‘lay low’ at his home, hoping to evade prosecution.

However, the SSU identified the traitor’s location and detained him.

During the searches at the suspect’s home, the SSU found his ‘ID’ from the ‘penitentiary institution’ and russian uniforms.

SSU investigators have served the former ‘junior inspector’ a notice of suspicion under Article 111-1.7 of the CCU (collaboration).

The court chose custody as a measure of restraint. The investigation is ongoing. The offender is facing up to 15 years in prison.

The SSU Office in Kherson region exposed the collaborator under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
