SSU detains another ‘employee’ of russian torture chamber which operated in Kherson during occupation

As a result of stabilization efforts in the liberated Kherson, the SSU jointly with the SBI and the SBGS exposed another collaborator.

The traitor is a local border guard who voluntarily cooperated with russian invaders during the city’s temporary occupation.

In July 2022, he was appointed ‘an operative’ in the then-captured ‘Northern Correctional Colony No 90’.

The ‘operative’ participated in repressions against local population aimed at suppressing the resistance movement in the region.

After Kherson’s liberation, the man tried to lay low and evade justice. However, the SSU and the SBI identified his location and detained him.

Based on the collected evidence, the detainee was notified of suspicion of collaboration (Article 111-1.7 of the CCU). Court is to decide on custody as a measure of restraint.

The investigation is ongoing. The suspect is facing up to 15 years in prison.

The SSU Office in Kherson region carried out the operation jointly with the State Bureau of Investigations and the State Border Guard Service under the procedural supervision of the Defence Prosecutor’s Office of the Southern Region.
