SSU detains another three collaborators in Kharkiv region, including district council officials and ‘financial chief’ of occupation administration

During stabilization efforts in the liberated districts of Kharkiv oblast, the SSU detained another three enemy accomplices.

The apprehended suspects include two residents of Vovchansk district, former local government officials.

After the occupation of a part of the region, they voluntarily collaborated with the enemy.

Last summer, they were appointed assistants to the head of a ‘territorial department’ of the district occupation administration.

In these ‘positions’, they carried out the aggressor’s instructions to prepare and hold a pseudo-referendum in the captured communities.

To do this, the collaborators personally organized meetings of local residents, where they agitated to participate in the fake plebiscite and ‘vote’ in favor of the kremlin.

The ‘campaigners’ also forced people to join the occupation ‘election commissions’.

If people refused, they threatened with repressions by the occupation punitive bodies.

Based on the evidence collected, SSU investigators notified both individuals of suspicion under two Articles of the CCU:

  • 110.2 (encroachment on Ukraine’s territorial integrity and inviolability);
  • 14.1 and 111-1.5 (collaboration).

The court has chosen custody as a measure of restraint for them.

Another collaborator is a 55-year-old resident of Dvorichna village, Kupiansk district, who joined the local occupation administration after the community was captured.

In August 2022, the man voluntarily agreed to head the ‘financial directorate’ established by the aggressor.

There, the traitor organized work to replenish the invaders’ ‘budget’, which was used mainly for logistical support of the occupation groupings on the eastern front.

He also prepared financial ‘reports’ for the gauleiter of Kupiansk district.

During Ukraine’s counteroffensive, the collaborator fled to Kharkiv, where he tried to ‘get lost’ and evade responsibility. However, the SSU found and detained him.

The apprehended individual has been served a notice of suspicion under Article 111-1.5 of the CCU (collaboration).

The court is to decide on custody as a measure of restraint. The investigation is ongoing.

The SSU Office in Kharkiv region carried out the operation jointly with the National Police under the supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office and Kupiansk District Prosecutor’s Office of Kharkiv region.
