During a large-scale special operation, SBU detained a notorious criminal lord wanted by Ukrainian authorities.

SBU officers established the whereabouts of the offender, known in criminal circles as the enforcer of Kharkiv region. According to the investigation, he is involved in numerous crimes, including unlawful handling of weapons, resistance and threats to law enforcement officers. The suspect will face up to twelve years in prison with seizure of property.

SBU officers detained the offender in his residence in Sumy where he had been hiding from justice since 2017.

The issue of choosing custody as a form of detention is being settled. His alleged involvement in other serious crimes is being checked.

The operation was conducted by the SBU Office in Kharkiv region jointly with relevant departments of the National Police of Ukraine.
