SSU detains leadership of Odesa company supplying to russia equipment for enemy military bases power grids

The SSU has shut down another scheme used to evade sanctions on supply of Ukrainian products to the aggressor state.

Seven members of the criminal group have been detained in Odesa: the founder and top managers of a local company that sold electrical equipment to russia for the russian military installations.

These were high-tech devices that ensure protection and uninterrupted operation of power grids.

According to the investigation, the entity covertly supplied several batches of domestic goods to russia worth over USD 1 million during 2023.

The organizers used controlled companies outside Ukraine, in the Middle East, to operate the scheme.

The products of the Ukrainian manufacturer were first exported to foreign intermediaries, and then they forwarded them to russian customers.

Among the latter are sanctioned russian companies supplying electrical equipment for the needs of the aggressor state’s ministry of defense, in particular for powering military bases.

The founder of the Odesa company involved six of his subordinates, including the commercial director, two department heads and an accountant.

During the searches of the suspects’ offices and homes, the SSU found documents, mobile phones and computers used in the crime.

Based on the evidence, SSU investigators notified the detained company officials of suspicion under two Articles of the CCU:

  • 111-2.1 (aiding the aggressor state);
  • 255.1, 255.2 (creation, management of a criminal organization, participation in it).

The suspects are in custody and face up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.

The operation was carried out under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor General’s Office.
