In Kharkiv, the SSU Counterintelligence has detained a collaborator who supported the kremlin media in justifying the aggressive war against Ukraine.

The suspect prepared fakes that were used for propaganda by russia's central TV channels, in particular, regarding the missile and bomb strikes on the critical infrastructure of Kharkiv.

The detainee spun lies that glorified the occupiers and denied their war crimes.

The kremlin's mouthpieces spread her fakes, including the talk shows of Skabeeva and Solovyov.

According to the investigation, the collaborator worked for the kremlin media through an accomplice, a russian “war correspondent”, who coordinated his actions with russian military intelligence.

The perpetrator contacted him via the VKontakte social network and offered her assistance in the war against Ukraine.

After receiving the information, the russian “war correspondent” passed it on to the moderators of the central TV channels or personally participated in the broadcasts spreading false narratives.

To collect data for the enemy, the suspect monitored news on Telegram channels or secretly elicited information from her acquaintances.

During the searches of the offender's home, the SSU seized a cell phone with evidence of her subversive activities in the interests of russia.

SSU investigators have served the detainee a notice of suspicion under two articles of the CCU:

• 111-1.6 (collaboration);
• 436-2.1 and 436-2.3 (justification, recognition as lawful, denial of russian armed aggression against Ukraine, glorification of its participants).

The offender is currently in custody facing up to 12 years in prison.

The operation was carried out by the SSU Offices in Cherkasy and Kharkiv regions under the procedural supervision of the Cherkasy Region Prosecutor's Office.
