SSU detains enemy agent intending to adjust strikes by russian aerial bombs on Ukraine’s Defence Intelligence base
The SSU detained another spotter who adjusted russian missile and bomb strikes on Kharkiv.
The perpetrator tried to identify the locations of the Kraken special purpose unit of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine.
Using the information from this asset, the occupiers hoped to hit these bases.
For the attack, the ruscists planned to use ballistic missiles and KAB-500 guided aerial bombs.
To guide them at the target, the traitor passed the coordinates to his russian handler via encrypted communication.
The SSU detained the suspect at his home.
Simultaneously, action was taken to protect the city’s infrastructure from a new air attack by the aggressor.
A mobile phone used by the enemy accomplice to communicate with the russian intelligence was seized.
According to the investigation, the enemy spotter is a local resident, an ideological supporter of ruscism. In early April this year, the occupiers recruited him through social media, where he published his anti- Ukrainian comments.
To gather intelligence, the man walked around the city and tracked the locations of the Defence Forces.
In addition, he elicited information from customers of a local shopping and entertainment centre where he worked as a salesperson.
Based on the evidence, SSU investigators served the detainee a notice of suspicion under Article 114-2.2 of the CCU (unauthorized dissemination of information on movement, transfer or location of the AFU, if it is possible to identify them on the ground).
The suspect is in custody and faces up to 8 years in prison.
The operation was carried out by the SSU Kharkiv Office under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
