SSU detains traitor who guided russian missiles at his AFU brigade and was preparing to flee to russia
The SSU has apprehended another enemy agent in Kharkiv. He is a recently mobilized 45-year-old resident of the city, who was recruited remotely by the russian military intelligence in August this year.
On the aggressor’s instructions, the agent was going to adjust an air strike on one of the units of his brigade.
In exchange, the GRU promised to extract him to russia, where he planned to join the ruscist army and fight against Ukraine.
To direct fire at the target, the spy marked the locations on a Google map and sent a screenshot to his handler.
The agent also conducted additional reconnaissance near Ukrainian air defence positions, which the ruscists hoped to evade during the missile attack.
Before the strike, the traitor had to arrive at a certain place on the front line, while the occupiers were going to make a ‘corridor’ for him to cross to the enemy side.
However, the SSU documented his actions and detained the suspect when he was preparing to flee to russia.
Action was taken to protect Ukrainian positions.
During the search, the investigators seized mobile phones used for communication with the russian intelligence.
Based on the evidence, the SSU notified the detainee of suspicion under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason, committed under martial law).
The suspect is in custody without the right to be released on bail. He faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
The operation was carried out by the SSU Kharkiv Office under the procedural supervision of the Specialized Defence Prosecutor’s Office in the Eastern Region.
