In the course of stabilization efforts in the liberated areas of southern Ukraine, the SSU jointly with the SBI exposed another three traitors.

During Kherson’s occupation, they joined the ‘department of the penitentiary service in Kherson region’ established by the aggressor.

Being in the ‘positions’, they carried out the kremlin’s tasks to suppress the resistance movement and conduct mass repressions.

According to the investigation, they personally ‘received’ the abducted locals in the occupation ‘detention center’ and illegally kept them in custody in cells in inhuman conditions.

The enemy accomplices turned out to be officials of the Southern Interregional Directorate for Execution of Criminal Sentences: the acting head of the local detention center and his deputy for operational work.

It was after the capture of Kherson that one of them voluntarily agreed to become an ‘assistant chief for public relations’, and the other - a ‘senior operative’ in the russian punitive entity.

They were also accompanied by an operative for combating drug trafficking, who joined the ranks of the occupation administration at the beginning of the full-scale invasion.

After Kherson’s liberation, the traitors tried to hide from justice. However, they failed: the SSU identified, located and detained them.

The detainees have been notified of suspicion under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason committed under martial law).

Court is to decide on custody as a measure of restraint.

The crime is punishable by up to 15 years in prison or life imprisonment.

The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.

The SSU Office in Kherson Region carried out the operation jointly with the SBI under the procedural supervision of Kherson Region Prosecutor’s Office.
