Kherson: SSU detains director of advertising agency, which produced propaganda ‘boards’ for russia’s sham referendum

In the course of stabilization efforts in the liberated Kherson, the SSU exposed another collaborator.

The offender is the director of a local advertising agency, who voluntarily cooperated with russian invaders during the temporary occupation of Kherson.

It was he who offered the ruscists PR services for the kremlin’s sham referendum.

To do this, he personally developed a ‘strategy’ for the enemy information campaign for the region’s ‘accession’ to russia.

His company developed and produced a wholesale batch of leaflets and posters for billboards calling for support of the fake plebiscite.

The cost of the ‘order’ was over UAH 500,000, which the individual received from the ruscists in russian rubles.

To place the propaganda materials, the company’s 20 billboards were used, installed along the roads and in crowded places in Kherson.

After the liberation of the city, the collaborator tried to ‘lie low’ and hide from justice.

However, the SSU exposed and detained him.

According to the investigation, the company director supported the russian invaders immediately after the start of the full-scale invasion.

He ‘re-registered’ his firm with the occupation administration and concluded a ‘contract’ with it to provide advertising services.

During the searches of the suspect’s office and home, the SSU found documents and visuals with evidence of the unlawful actions.

The detainee has been served a notice of suspicion under the Articles 111-1.4, 111-1.6 of the CCU (collaboration).

Court is to decide on custody as a measure of restraint.

The investigation is ongoing.

The SSU Offices in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Kherson region carried out the investigation under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office.
