Kherson: SSU detains collaborator from ‘russian ministry of interior’, who tried to escape to temporarily occupied territory
As a result of stabilization efforts in the liberated Kherson, the SSU exposed another enemy accomplice.
The offender is a former official of the disbanded State Automobile Inspectorate, who supported russian invaders after the aggressor launched its full-scale invasion.
After Kherson was captured, the man voluntarily decided to cooperate with the enemy and received a ‘position’ in the local occupation police.
The collaborator joined the ‘main directorate of the ministry of interior in Kherson region’ and was appointed ‘inspector of patrol service’.
Carrying firearms and a corresponding russian ‘certificate’, he ‘served’ the occupiers and conducted ‘raids’ in the city to find members of the resistance movement.
During such ‘raids’, ruscists illegally detained citizens, looted their homes and took the victims to a local torture chamber.
After Kherson’s liberation, the ‘inspector’ tried to escape to the left bank of the Dnipro to hide from justice. However, the SSU detained the offender.
Based on the collected evidence, SSU investigators notified the detainee of suspicion under the Article 111-1.7 of the CCU (voluntary holding of a position by a citizen of Ukraine in illegal law enforcement agencies established in the temporarily occupied territory).
Court chose custody as a measure of restraint.
The suspect faces up to 15 years in prison.
The SSU Office in Kherson region and the SSU Main Investigation Directorate exposed the offender under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor General’s Office.
