Lviv: SSU detains enemy informant who posed as IDP and collected information on AFU
The enemy agent is a resident of Mykolaiv oblast and a sister of another traitor, recently detained by the SSU.
The woman was recruited remotely, in October 2022.
The SSU Counterintelligence documented the suspect collect intelligence on locations and movements of the Defence Forces in Lviv.
To conceal her reconnaissance activities, the woman posed as an IDP from the frontline areas of southern Ukraine.
The informant often visited areas near military formations and put markings on electronic maps. Subsequently, she tried to transmit the collected data to russia via a messenger app.
However, the SSU Counterintelligence was ahead of the curve - the offender was timely exposed and detained on an attempt to pass intelligence to the aggressor.
During the search, the SSU seized computer equipment and seven mobile phones. One of them contained evidence of the crime.
SSU investigators served her a notice of suspicion.
The court chose custody as a measure of restraint. The investigation is ongoing.
The SSU Office in Lviv Region carried out the operation and investigative activities under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office.
