SSU detains Lyman ‘chief engineer of rosenergo’ who cut off electricity to civilians and supplied power to ruscists

In the course of stabilization efforts in the liberated areas of Donetsk region, the SSU exposed another collaborator.

The offender is a former power grid foreman in Lyman, Donetsk oblast. During the temporary occupation, he supported russian invaders and offered his assistance in the war against Ukraine.

For this, the man was appointed ‘chief engineer’ in the ‘regional energy supply company of russia’ created by the aggressor.

In this ‘position’, he cut off power to the civilian population of the region and redirected the available energy for the ruscists.

In particular, the suspect set up supply of electricity to Lyman’s occupation administration, local ‘DNR police departments’ and russian ‘military commandant’s office’ established by the enemy.

In addition, the ‘chief engineer’ ensured uninterrupted power supply to buildings where regular russian troops were stationed.

In the meantime, homes of local population were left without electricity.

The traitor also recorded his video comments for pro-kremlin Telegram channels, praising russia’s occupation regime.

After Lyman’s liberation, the collaborator tried to lay low and evade justice.

However, the SSU identified the offender’s location and detained him.

He has now been served a notice of suspicion of collaboration (Articles 27.5, 111-1.4 of the CCU). The court chose custody as a measure of restraint. The suspect is facing imprisonment.

The SSU Office in Donetsk and Luhansk regions carried out the operation under the procedural supervision of Donetsk Region Prosecutor’s Office.
