SSU detains employee of regional heating and energy company who worked for russia and adjusted strikes on Mykolaiv

The SSU has apprehended another informant of russia’s federal security service who was preparing coordinates for new russian missile and drone strikes on Mykolaiv.

The perpetrator is a 43-year-old technician of a local heating and energy company. The occupiers ‘noticed’ him because of his pro-russian comments on Telegram channels.

After receiving instructions from the FSB, the individual began reconnaissance of areas of large concentrations of Defense Forces personnel and military equipment.

To identify potential targets, the man drove his car around the city and adjacent areas and covertly recorded objects where he believed Ukrainian defenders could be.

He also tried to elicit the necessary information from his colleagues and acquaintances during conversations.

The SSU’s cyber units uncovered the FSB informant at an early stage, documented his crimes and detained him at his home. Simultaneously, action was taken to protect the locations of the Defense Forces.

A mobile phone was seized during the searches. The traitor used a Telegram channel to communicate with the FSB.

SSU investigators notified the detainee of suspicion under Article 114-2.3 of the CCU (unauthorized dissemination of information on transfer, movement or location of the AFU).

The suspect is in custody and faces up to 12 years in prison.

The operation was carried out by the SSU Mykolaiv Office under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
