SSU detains FSB secret agent with code name 007
The SSU Counterintelligence has detained a russian agent in Zaporizhzhia. The woman arrived in the city as a volunteer, but actually was carrying out an assignment for russia to identify location of units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
She is from the temporarily occupied Polohy district, Zaporizhzhia oblast, and was recruited by russian special services shortly after the start of russia’s full-scale invasion.
From her russian handler, the agent got the call sign ‘007’ and a briefing on conducting reconnaissance and subversive activities in the region.
For cover, the enemy’s accomplice posed as a local volunteer. In the temporarily occupied territory, she used her personal connections to collect information on participants of the partisan movement in the south for their further identification.
The agent’s next assignment was to establish contacts with Ukrainian defenders in order to identify the location of deployment and movement routes of Ukrainian troops. To do this, she left the temporarily occupied territory and went to Zaporizhzhia.
The traitor planned to pass coordinates and data on the number of personnel and equipment of Ukrainian Defence Forces to the occupiers through a specially created anonymous Telegram channel.
However, the SSU promptly exposed and neutralized the enemy agent.
SSU investigators have notified her of suspicion of treason committed under martial law. The court has ruled to keep the detainee in custody.
The SSU Office in Zaporizhzhia Region carried out the operation under the procedural supervision of Zaporizhzhia Region Prosecutor’s Office.
