In Odesa city, the SBU detained a member of the Islamic State international terrorist organization, who, according to the INTERPOL General Secretariat, was on the international wanted list.

The SBU officers received information that a citizen of a Central Asian country involved in terrorism illegally arrived in Ukraine. The SBU established that he was trained in terrorist camps in the Middle East.

In Ukraine, the suspect planned to organize the transit of militants from different countries joining ISIS.

During the special operation, the SBU officers detained the alleged terrorist in Odesa city.

Pursuant to the decision of the Prosecutor General’s Office on the extradition by the SBU, the detainee was escorted and extradited.
