SSU detains enemy agent who worked for russian state duma member and adjusted strikes on Kherson

In Kherson, the SSU cyber units detained an informant of a member of russia’s state duma Ihor Kastiukevych, one of the kremlin-appointed ‘supervisors’ of the temporarily occupied area.

The enemy agent is a local woman who had subscribed to one of the russian MP’s social media accounts when Kherson was under occupation.

After the city’s liberation, she offered her ‘help’ online in adjusting russian strikes on targets connected with Ukrainian Defence Forces in Kherson.

To do this, the traitor walked the streets and covertly recorded locations of Ukrainian combat units.

The collected intelligence was sent to Kastiukevych’s page in the form of texts and georeferenced data. Then, the information was forwarded to the staff of the Southern military district of the russian armed forces to prepare the attacks.

According to the investigation, this is how the spotter adjusted the russian shelling of the city from multiple launch rocket systems this summer.

As a result of the special operation, the SSU apprehended the enemy asset on her attempt to pass new intelligence to the russian parliamentarian.

During the search, the SSU seized a mobile phone with evidence of the woman’s sabotage activities against Ukraine.

Based on the collected evidence, SSU investigators served the detainee a notice of suspicion under Article 114-2.3 of the CCU (unauthorized dissemination of information on shipping, transfer of weapons, armaments and ammunition to Ukraine, movement, transfer or deployment of the AFU).

The suspect is in custody, facing up to 12 years in prison. The investigation is underway.

The SSU Office in Kherson region exposed the traitor under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
