SSU detains FSB agent who filmed positions of Defence Forces with hidden video recorder in Odesa
The SSU exposed another enemy accomplice who was collecting information for the enemy on location of Ukrainian Defence Forces on the southern direction.
As a result of a multi-stage special operation, an agent of russian special services was detained in Odesa.
The spy was covertly collecting intelligence on location of troops in the region. He was mainly interested in the number of personnel and military equipment, information on defence capability and combat readiness of military facilities.
According to the investigation, the traitor is a local resident - an active supporter of the ‘russian world’, though he was guided not only by ideological motives. The individual expected to get a ‘position’ in the occupation administration in case the oblast is captured.
The agent drove to different districts of Odesa and its suburbs and visually inspected the area. To film military targets, he used a video recorder hidden in the interior of his car and stored the collected data on a memory card, which he planned to pass to russians.
However, the SSU timely exposed his criminal intentions and detained the traitor on an attempt to pass intelligence to the enemy.
During the search, the SSU found a hidden video recorder and data carriers with evidence of the crime.
SSU investigators served the detainee a notice of suspicion under the Article 111.2 of the CCU. Court chose custody as a measure of restraint for the suspect.
The SSU Office in Odesa region carried out the operation under the procedural supervision of Odesa Region Prosecutor’s Office.
