SSU detains enemy agent who spied on mobile air defense groups and ‘Lyut’ assault brigade in Odesa

In Odesa, the SSU has apprehended an agent of russian intelligence services who was preparing to pass to the enemy coordinates for new missile and drone strikes on the city.

The aggressor intended to target temporary bases of the combined assault brigade of the National Police Lyut, which is fighting on the southern front.

The occupiers also planned to attack the locations of mobile air defense groups.

To obtain the geolocations for the strikes, the russian service remotely recruited a 63-year-old Odesa resident who agreed to cooperate for money.

To carry out the occupiers’ tasks, he regularly walked around the city and covertly photographed military facilities.

The intelligence was transmitted to the russians by email.

The SSU documented the agent’s actions and detained him ’red-handed’ when he was reconnoitering near a military facility.

Action was taken to protect Ukrainian units.

During the search of the perpetrator’s home, a cell phone and computer equipment with evidence of the crime were seized.

SSU investigators served him a notice of suspicion under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason, committed under martial law).

The suspect is in custody and faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.

The operation was carried out by the SSU Odesa Office under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
