SSU detains 7 Odesa bloggers who disrupted mobilization and published locations of military recruitment officials on FSB Telegram channels

In Odesa, the SSU dismantled a network acting in the interests of russian intelligence services. Its members tried to disrupt mobilization and published the locations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine servicemen.

To do this, the individuals filmed provocative streams and published fake posts about the Ukrainian military and officials of Territorial Recruitment Centers, which are conducting the mobilization.

The bloggers also disclosed coordinates of checkpoints and routes of mobile groups of local military enlistment offices.

The occupiers could have used this information to prepare air strikes on Ukrainian defenders.

However, the SSU disrupted enemy plans and detained 7 suspects.

These include a married couple from Odesa who leaked locations of the AFU to a pro-russian Telegram channel with 200,000 subscribers.

This Internet resource is administered by the FSB, which uses it to collect information on locations and movements of Ukraine’s Defence Forces.

One of the traitors detained by the SSU during this operation was providing information to the same Telegram channel.

Another four perpetrators are Odesa residents who tried to disrupt mobilization through posts in specialized groups and chatbots in popular messenger apps.

Among them is the administrator of a regional Telegram channel with a 15,000 audience.

There, the man shared current locations of Territorial Recruitment Centers servicemen and urged his followers to carry out subversive activities against Ukraine.

After the detention, the SSU took action to protect Ukrainian units.

During the searches, the investigators seized mobile phones and computer equipment with evidence of the crimes.

The SSU has notified the persons involved of suspicion under Article 114-1 of the CCU (obstruction of lawful activities of the AFU, during a special period).

The suspects face up to 8 years in prison.

The operation was carried out by the SSU Office in Odesa region under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
