SSU detains enemy agitator who prepared fakes for Solovyov’s talk show
In Bukovyna, the SSU cyber unit exposed an enemy Internet agitator, who spread disinformation about the situation in the region and discredited the Defence Forces of Ukraine.
Among his most widespread fakes are posts in the banned social network Vkontakte on the ‘aggravation of the socio-political situation in western Ukraine due to the war with russia.’
He also spun lies about activities of government authorities, units of the AFU and volunteer organizations.
Among the recipients of these fakes was personally kremlin propagandist Solovyov, with whom the detainee was in direct contact.
The agitator helped Solovyov to form destructive content for publication in provocative stories and ‘talk shows’ on russia 1 TV channel.
For his service, the aggressor’s accomplice hoped to obtain russian citizenship and settle near moscow.
According to the investigation, the suspect is a resident of Chernivtsi region, who used to practice law. After the full-scale invasion, he began to actively call in social networks to support the occupiers and justified their war crimes.
In this way, the individual came to attention of kremlin information resources and began to ‘cooperate’ with them to the detriment of Ukraine’s state security.
For communication with the enemy, the man used messenger apps and anonymous russian Telegram channels.
During the searches at the suspect’s home, the law enforcement found computer equipment and mobile phones with proof of his unlawful activity.
Based on the collected evidence, the offender was notified of suspicion of offence under Article 436-2.3 of the CCU (justification, recognition as lawful, denial of russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine, glorification of its participants).
Court is to decide on custody as a measure of restraint.
The SSU Office in Chernivtsi Region carried out the operation jointly with the Cyber Police under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
