SSU detains enemy informant who recorded consequences of russian missile strike on high-rise building in Zaporizhzhia

In the course of counter-sabotage efforts in the frontline areas of southern Ukraine, the SSU detained another accomplice of the aggressor.

According to the SSU Counterintelligence, the man was collecting information for ruscists on the consequences of russian missile strikes on civilian infrastructure in Zaporizhzhia.

The SSU identified that it was this individual who had recorded and sent to the enemy a photo of a destroyed apartment building, hit by the invaders on March 22, 2023.

Occupiers needed this information to prepare new attacks on the region.

According to the investigation, the enemy informant is a local IT specialist, whom russian intelligence remotely recruited for covert cooperation.

He came to the attention of the aggressor through dissemination of posts on social media in support of russia’s armed aggression.

To contact the invaders, the informant used the Telegram messenger and transmitted the collected information in the form of photos and videos of buildings with descriptions of surrounding areas.

During the searches at the suspect’s home, the SSU found a mobile phone with evidence of communication with the enemy.

The investigation is ongoing.

The SSU Office in Zaporizhzhia region exposed the offender under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
