SSU detains enemy informant who guided russian missiles at Sloviansk

As a result of counter-sabotage efforts in the frontline areas of Donetsk oblast, the SSU exposed another enemy accomplice.

The aggressor’s informant is an unemployed resident of Sloviansk, who was collecting intelligence for occupiers on deployment of the Defence Forces in the city.

Primarily, he tried to identify routes and temporary bases of the Armed Forces and the National Guard units deployed on Bakhmut direction.

If russian troops had obtained intelligence from this source, they would have used it to launch missile strikes on Ukrainian positions.

However, the SSU detained the suspect and thwarted passing of classified information to the aggressor.

According to the investigation, the spy was ‘in contact’ with the ‘deputy commander of the commandant’s regiment of the DNR people’s militia’.

The informant walked around the target area and covertly recorded locations of Ukrainian defenders.

He then passed the intelligence through one of the banned russian social networks.

For helping occupation forces, russians promised their accomplice money and a ‘high position’ if the city is captured.

Based on the collected evidence, SSU investigators served the detained individual a notice of suspicion.

The suspect is currently in custody. The investigation is underway.

The SSU Office in Donetsk and Luhansk regions carried out the operation under the procedural supervision of Donetsk Region Prosecutor’s Office.
