SSU detains enemy informant who collected intelligence on Dnipropetrovsk region defence

As a result of counter-sabotage efforts in Dnipropetrovsk region, the SSU exposed another enemy accomplice.

The offender, on his own initiative, published in pro-russian Internet communities photos and video footage of the Defence Forces bases in the region.

In this way, he came to attention of russian intelligence, which contacted him through controlled administrators of pro-kremlin Internet resources.

Through a messenger app, they offered the man cooperation in exchange for money, which was then sent to his bank card.

On the aggressor’s instructions, he went to the target area and covertly photographed the movement of the AFU units.

Primarily, russians were interested in information on movement of convoys with foreign-made military equipment.

The invaders planned to use the intelligence to prepare and conduct missile attacks on Ukrainian targets.

The SSU Counterintelligence detained the enemy informant on his attempt to pass classified information to the occupiers.

According to the investigation, the offender, a resident of Synelnykove district, publicly supported russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine.

The individual spread his pro-kremlin views from his own accounts on popular social media.

During the search of the suspect’s home, the SSU found a computer and a mobile phone with evidence of the unlawful activity.

SSU investigators notified the detained traitor of suspicion. The suspect is currently in custody, facing up to 12 years in prison.

The SSU Office in Dnipropetrovsk region carried out the operation under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
