SSU detains informant who helped enemy launch missile strikes on Mykolaiv

As a result of counter-sabotage efforts in the frontline areas of southern Ukraine, the SSU cyber units exposed another accomplice of the aggressor.

According to the investigation, the suspect is a local resident who, at the beginning of the full-scale invasion, supported russian occupiers and actively expressed this on social media.

In this way, she came to the attention of the enemy, who remotely engaged her in cooperation.

The agent collected intelligence on locations of the Defence Forces and critical infrastructure in Mykolaiv region.

To gather information, the woman went to the area and covertly photographed locations of Ukrainian targets and surrounding area and sent the obtained data via an anonymous messenger.

Later, the enemy could use the intelligence to prepare and conduct targeted missile attacks on the city.

The SSU detained the enemy informant on her attempt to collect classified information.

During the search of the suspect’s residence, the SSU found a mobile phone with evidence of the agent’s communication with the aggressor.

SSU investigators served the woman a notice of suspicion under the Article 114-2.2 of the CCU (unauthorized dissemination of information on sending, movement of weapons and ammunition to Ukraine, transfer, movement or deployment of the AFU or other lawful military formations of Ukraine, committed under martial law).

The suspect is in custody. The investigation is ongoing.

The SSU Office in Mykolaiv region carried out the operation and investigative activities under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
