SSU detains enemy informant who ‘guided’ russian missiles at schools and power substations in Donetsk region

The SSU exposed another member of a russian intelligence network operating in the frontline areas of eastern Ukraine.

In the previous months, the SSU detained four of her accomplices on attempts to pass intelligence on the Defence Forces bases in Bakhmut and Kramatorsk sectors to russian occupiers.

Given their cooperation with the investigation, the court sentenced them to 8 years in prison.

This time, the SSU detained an enemy informant who not only hid from justice, but also continued her reconnaissance and subversive activities against Ukraine.

The offender was covertly collecting information on location and movement of the Armed Forces of Ukraine near Dobropillia, Donetsk region.

The woman also passed to ruscists coordinates of local schools and critical infrastructure facilities, including energy generating enterprises.

The invaders used the obtained intelligence to prepare and conduct targeted missile attacks on Ukrainian villages.

According to the investigation, the informant passed classified information to her friend using anonymous messengers.

The data were then sent to the staff of the 1st army corps of russia’s Southern military district.

Based on the evidence, SSU investigators notified the detainee of suspicion under the Article 114-2.2 of the CCU (dissemination of information on movement, transfer or location of the Armed Forces of Ukraine or other military formations).

The court chose custody as a measure of restraint for the suspect.

The operation was carried out by the SSU Office in Donetsk and Luhansk regions under the supervision of Donetsk Region Prosecutor’s Office.
