SSU detains enemy informant who created Telegram channel to collect intelligence on Odesa defence
As a result of counter-sabotage efforts in the frontline areas of southern Ukraine, the SSU exposed another enemy accomplice.
The offender is a resident of Odesa, who was covertly collecting information on locations and movements of the Defence Forces in the region.
The woman was primarily interested in locations of fortifications along the coast.
To collect classified information, the suspect created her own pro-kremlin Telegram channel; several hundred of ‘like-minded people’ subscribed to the channel.
On it, she urged her readers to take screenshots of electronic maps with coordinates of Ukrainian troops and send them to her in personal messages.
The traitor planned to send the data to the russian occupiers.
However, the SSU documented all stages of her criminal activity and detained the suspect.
During the search of the woman’s home, the SSU found mobile phones and computer equipment with evidence of sabotage activities.
SSU investigators notified the detained individual of suspicion under Article 114-2.2 of the CCU (unauthorized dissemination of information on sending, movement of weapons and ammunition to Ukraine, movement, transfer or deployment of the AFU or other lawful military formations).
The court chose custody as a measure of restraint for the suspect. The investigation is ongoing.
The SSU Office in Odesa region exposed the offender under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office.
