SSU detains enemy informants who spied on leadership of Kyiv military enlistment offices

The SSU has exposed an intelligence network of the FSB, which operated across Ukraine.

The agents collected information on location of the Defence Forces and technical condition of critical infrastructure facilities after enemy attacks.

The SSU detained six members of this network in late February this year.

Another three FSB informants have been detained now. They tried to covertly collect classified information near Ukrainian military units.

Among the detained individuals is a resident of Kyiv region who was trying to identify the backup command post of Kyiv territorial center for recruitment and social support.

He also received an assignment from the FSB to get into the premises of one of the military enlistment offices and conduct reconnaissance inside.

Another agent cooperated with the enemy because he was hoping to get a ‘position’ in the occupation administration if the region is captured.

According to the investigation, the informants were in remote communication with an FSB officer who engaged them in covert cooperation after the start of the full-scale invasion.

To communicate, they used a specially created anonymous Telegram channel.

SSU investigators served the enemy agents notices of suspicion under the Article 114-2.3 of the CCU (unauthorized dissemination of information on sending, movement of weapons and ammunition to Ukraine, movement, transfer or deployment of the AFU or other lawful military formations, committed under martial law by a group of persons by prior conspiracy or for mercenary motives, or with the purpose of providing such information to an aggressor state).

The suspects are currently in custody. The investigation is ongoing.

The operation was carried out under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor General’s Office.
