SSU detains ‘deputy head of russia’s election commission’ who helped ruscists hold sham referendum in Kherson oblast

The SSU has uncovered another collaborator who organized russia’s unlawful ‘referendum’ during the occupation of the right-bank Kherson region.

The suspect is a resident of Borozenske, Beryslav district, who voluntarily cooperated with the aggressor after the village was captured.

For this, the invaders appointed her ‘deputy head of the russian election commission’ in the community.

While in this ‘position’, the collaborator organized mass campaigning events in support of the fake plebiscite on the region’s ‘accession’ to russia.

She and her accomplices placed propaganda leaflets with the symbols of the aggressor state in the ‘polling station’ and public places.

The traitor also prepared lists of residents to force them to participate in the staged voting and create an appearance of a maximum turnout.

The ‘election official’ demanded that people put the ‘necessary’ marks in illegal ballots to falsify the results of the pseudo-referendum.

After Kherson’s liberation, the woman remained on the right bank of the region, tried to lay low and evade justice.

However, the SSU found and detained her.

Based on the evidence, the SSU notified the detainee of suspicion under Articles 28.2, 111-1.5 of the CCU (collaboration, committed by a group upon prior conspiracy).

The perpetrator is in custody and faces up to 10 years in prison with confiscation of property. The investigation is ongoing.

The operation was conducted by the SSU Office in Kherson region under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office and Beryslav District Prosecutor’s Office.
