SSU detains traitor who prepared foothold for ruscist offensive in Dnipropetrovsk region
The Security Service of Ukraine has detained an FSB agent who was preparing a new series of russian strikes on Nikopol district in Dnipropetrovsk oblast.
The enemy’s targets were the firing positions of the AFU artillery defending the bank and river waters of the frontline community.
To identify Ukrainian combat positions, the occupiers used their asset, a 57-year-old resident of a local village.
On the instructions of the russian service, the man walked along the riverside of the community every day, trying to establish the bases of the Defence Forces.
If he identified the geolocations, he reported to the FSB via a messenger app, deleting all messages after each communication session.
The invaders planned to strike on these targets with cannon and rocket artillery from the temporarily occupied part of Zaporizhzhia region.
In this way, the ruscists tried to take fire control of the area along the Kakhovka Reservoir in Nikopol community.
The SSU Counterintelligence uncovered the aggressor’s plans and detained their agent ‘red-handed’ when he was conducting reconnaissance near a potential target.
Action was taken to protect the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
During the searches, the investigators seized the suspect’s mobile phones, which he used to communicate with the FSB.
The SSU also found a bank card in the traitor’s apartment, to which he received payments from the russians.
Based on the evidence, the SSU served the detainee a notice of suspicion under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason, committed under martial law).
The suspect is in custody and faces life imprisonment.
The operation was carried out by the SSU Office in Dnipropetrovsk region under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
