SSU detains traitor preparing russian missile strikes on Bukovyna
The SSU has detained an enemy informant in Bukovyna. He was preparing missile and drone strikes on critical infrastructure of the region and was trying to join russian occupation forces.
The perpetrator is a 36-year-old resident of Chernivtsi, who had been hiding at home from mobilization for two years. During this time, he contacted the occupiers and offered them his assistance in the war against Ukraine.
To show his support of ruscism, the man demonstratively set fire to a Ukrainian flag during a conversation on the russian website Chatroulette.
After that, the traitor tried to establish the location of fuel and lubricant depots in the city and around it.
To communicate with the invaders, he used a video chat controlled by the russian intelligence services.
The informant also wrote in pro-kremlin Internet communities about his desire to join russian militants to fight against Ukraine.
The SSU identified and detained the enemy accomplice.
During the search of the detainee’s apartment, the SSU seized 3 mobile phones, 2 laptops, a tablet and flash drives with evidence of his reconnaissance and sabotage activities against Ukraine.
The investigators have served him a notice of suspicion under two Articles of the CCU:
- 15.2, 111.2 (completed attempt to commit high treason, under martial law);
- 436-2.1 (justification, recognition as lawful, denial of russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine, glorification of its participants).
The suspect is in custody and faces up to 15 years in prison.
The operation was carried out by the SSU Office in Chernivtsi region under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
