SSU detains traitor who tried to poison AFU command in Zaporizhzhia region (video)

The SSU Military Counterintelligence prevented russian sabotage against the command of Ukraine’s Defence Forces on the southern front.

As a result of a special operation, the SSU detained an FSB agent who tried to fatally poison commanders of the Armed Forces combat unit in Zaporizhzhia region.

The perpetrator is an active serviceman of the Ukrainian army. To commit the crime, he planned to add a poisonous substance to the water of the bath and laundry complex used by the commanders.

The SSU timely uncovered the traitor’s connection with the russian service and documented his sabotage activities against Ukraine.

This made it possible to take action to protect Ukrainian defenders, as well as to detain the enemy agent when he was preparing to commit the act.

During the investigation, the SSU found out that the traitor was performing another assignment – collecting intelligence for the FSB on location and movement of the AFU units on the front line.

The asset was recruited through his parents, who live in the temporarily occupied part of Luhansk oblast.

The invaders abducted his relatives right from their home and imprisoned them in a torture chamber.

There, the parents were subjected to severe torture as the ruscists demanded to persuade their son to work for russia.

Communication between the agent and his russian handler was then carried out in an anonymous chat in a messenger app.

During the search, the SSU seized the suspect’s mobile phone, which he used to communicate with the occupiers.

Based on the evidence, SSU investigators served him a notice of suspicion under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason, committed under martial law).

The suspect is in custody and faces life imprisonment.

The operation was carried out by the SSU Office in Zaporizhzhia region under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office.
