SSU detains traitor who betrayed his father during Kherson region’s occupation to get ‘position’ from Saldo (video)
In Kherson region, the SSU Counterintelligence detained a village council member who sided with the enemy during the occupation of the oblast.
The traitor was a member of the banned party of regions, and at the beginning of the full-scale russian invasion went out to welcome the convoys of russian troops entering the community.
During the occupation, the man was one of the first to offer the invaders his assistance in the war against Ukraine. To do this, he began to provide the aggressor with the addresses of the resistance movement members and their families.
One of the first persons he betrayed was his dad, who was pro-Ukrainian and opposed russia’s armed aggression.
His father was then taken to a local russian torture chamber and subjected to torture: the ruscists were trying to force him to cooperate with them.
In the meantime, the traitorous village council member was appointed to the occupation administration established in the community under gauleiter Saldo’s leadership.
In the pseudo-institution, he was responsible for distribution of russian ‘humanitarian aid’ among the kremlin’s supporters.
The collaborator also repeatedly participated in looting of local homes and abductions of people who resisted the invaders.
On his own initiative, the man stood ‘on duty’ with weapons at russian checkpoints and ‘arranged housing’ for occupiers in the homes of citizens who had left for the Ukraine-controlled territory.
After the village was liberated, the collaborator remained in the community, trying to lay low and evade justice.
The SSU identified the traitor’s location and detained him.
The items seized from him during the search include:
- a russian passport he received in June 2022;
- the banned party of regions ID;
- propaganda symbols of the aggressor state and other material evidence.
SSU investigators notified the detainee of suspicion under two Articles of the CCU:
- 111.2 (high treason, committed under martial law);
- 111-1.2 (collaboration).
The court chose custody as a measure of restraint. The suspect is facing life imprisonment.
The operation was carried out by the SSU Offices in Zhytomyr and Kherson regions under the procedural supervision of Zhytomyr Region Prosecutor’s Office.
