SSU detains traitor who ‘hunted’ for HIMARS and reconnoitered Ukrainian ammunition depots in Odesa oblast (video)
As a result of an operation in Odesa region, the SSU exposed another agent of russian intelligence services.
The traitor is a conscript of one of the brigades of the Ukrainian Navy, who was recruited by the enemy after the start of full-scale aggression.
Occupiers chose the nickname ‘Krymchanyn’ for their spy and tasked him with collecting information on the defence of Odesa region.
Following the instructions of the russian special service, he covertly collected intelligence on location of staffs, military equipment and depots with missile and artillery weapons of a military unit in the region.
The agent also tried to identify positions of HIMARS rocket launchers.
The traitor tried to pass the information to his russian handler via an anonymous messenger in the form of marks on electronic maps.
However, the SSU was proactive - the offender was timely exposed, his actions – documented. The suspect was detained when he was conducting reconnaissance.
To conceal his criminal actions, the agent often changed SIM cards in the phone, which he used to communicate with the aggressor.
Based on the collected evidence, SSU investigators served the detained conscript a notice of suspicion under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason committed under martial law).
The court chose custody as a measure of restraint. The investigation is ongoing.
The SSU Office in Odesa region carried out the operation under the procedural supervision of the Specialized Defence Prosecutor’s Office of the Southern Region.
