SSU detains traitor who provided enemy with information on Ukraine’s offensive operations
The SSU Military Counterintelligence has exposed a russian agent who informed the enemy on combat operation plans of Ukrainian Defence Forces in a strategically important area of the frontline.
Thanks to the SSU’s prompt response, the Ukrainian command timely adjusted their management decisions in order to successfully perform combat missions.
According to the investigation, the aggressor’s accomplice is an official of one of the AFU military units, recruited by the russian intelligence after the start of the full-scale invasion.
On the occupiers’ instructions, the traitor was secretly collecting information on movement of Ukrainian troops, replenishment of military equipment and ammunition.
The agent also ‘leaked’ analytical reports on the situation at the front to his russian supervisors.
As a result of a special operation, the SSU detained the spy on his attempt to transmit intelligence to ruscists. This time, he tried to inform the enemy on the operational situation on one of the directions of the front.
During the searches, the SSU found communication and computer equipment that the suspect used to contact the invaders.
Based on the collected evidence, SSU investigators notified the detainee of suspicion of high treason committed under martial law (Article 111.2 of the CCU).
The detainee fully admitted his guilt.
Court chose custody without bail as a measure of restraint.
The investigation is ongoing to establish all the circumstances of the crime.
The SSU Military Counterintelligence Department exposed the agent jointly with the SSU Office in Volyn Region under the procedural supervision of the Specialized Military and Defence Prosecutor’s Office of the Western Region.
