SSU detains traitors who provided intelligence to enemy on secret bases of AFU Special Operations Forces during occupation of Kherson

In the course of stabilization measures in the liberated Kherson, the SSU Counterintelligence exposed another two agents of the russian FSB.

One of them is a local resident, who was engaged by the servicemen of the AFU Special Operations Forces in performing operational and combat assignments on the southern front.

During the capture of Kherson, he went over to the russian occupiers and offered them his assistance in the war against Ukraine.

On the night of June 27 last year, he gave up to the two FSB employees with the call signs ‘Mars’ and ‘Zelenyi’ the address of a safe house of Ukrainian Special Operations Forces in Kherson.

The traitor also disclosed to the enemy the location of an operational group of the AFU’s special purpose unit in the city.

The aggressor used the obtained intelligence to capture several Ukrainian servicemen and their families.

The informant also tried to persuade locals in the temporarily occupied area to secretly cooperate with the FSB.

The second agent is a contract serviceman of one of the AFU’s brigades, an acquaintance of the above-described enemy accomplice.

In June last year, the Ukrainian soldier was taken prisoner by ruscists.

There, he tried in every possible way to prove his loyalty to the russian invaders.

To do this, he gave the FSB the address of his combat group commander’s brother, who was then captured by russians.

He also provided the enemy with information on his unit’s location and combat missions.

Later, the contract serviceman was returned to Ukraine.

After Kherson’s liberation, both traitors tried to ‘lie low’ and hide from justice.

However, the SSU Counterintelligence exposed their crimes and detained them as a result of a special operation in Kherson and Odesa.

Based on the collected evidence, SSU investigators notified both offenders of suspicion under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason committed under martial law).

Court chose custody as a measure of restraint for the suspects.

The operation was carried out by the SSU Office in Odesa region jointly with the AFU Special Operations Forces under the procedural supervision of the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office in Military and Defence Sphere of the Southern Region.
