SSU detains traitor who spied for enemy in Kherson

The SSU has exposed another informant who helped the occupiers adjust their air and artillery strikes on Kherson.

After the shelling, the woman photographed the sites of hits and their consequences, and then sent a ‘report’ to the aggressor.

Using her data, the invaders adjusted strikes on Kherson’s critical, social and residential infrastructure, as well as locations of Ukrainian troops. Apart from directing fire at targets, they could also obtain information on the impact of their attacks.

The invaders used multiple launch rocket systems, cannon artillery and kamikaze drones to shell the city.

The SSU identified the spotter, tracked her down and detained her at her home.

According to the investigation, the enemy asset was a local resident who started working for the occupiers at her own initiative in June this year.

The woman reached out to the administrator of a resource on a social network and offered her assistance in the war against Ukraine. Further communication was carried out in an anonymous chat through a messenger app.

During the search of the suspect’s home, the SSU found a mobile phone that she used to communicate with the aggressor.

Based on the evidence, SSU investigators served her a notice of suspicion under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason, committed under martial law).

The suspect is in custody, facing life imprisonment. The investigation is ongoing.

The operation was carried out by the SSU Office in Kherson region under the procedural supervision of Kherson Specialized Defence Prosecutor’s Office of the Southern Region.
