SSU detains traitor who passed geolocation data of AFU units counter-attacking near Bakhmut to ruscists
The SSU Counterintelligence has apprehended another enemy agent who passed information on deployment of Ukraine’s Defence Forces in Donetsk region to the aggressor.
The spy is a teacher of a Kramatorsk high school and ‘worked’ for the main directorate of the general staff of the russian armed forces (‘the GRU’).
On the GRU’s instructions, the woman collected information on locations and movements of Ukrainian troops involved in the counter-offensive near Bakhmut.
The enemy was particularly interested in routes of movement of Ukrainian heavy armoured vehicles and artillery.
The traitor transmitted the information to the russian military intelligence through a ‘liaison’ in the temporarily occupied part of Luhansk oblast.
The ‘liaison’ is her close acquaintance, ‘serving’ in the aggressor-controlled ‘LNR ministry of interior’. It was with his ‘help’ that the GRU recruited the teacher.
The occupiers needed the intelligence for planning combat operations to slow down Ukraine’s counter-offensive in the area.
The data were transmitted via a messenger app as georeferenced photos with electronic coordinates.
During the searches, the SSU seized the mobile phone which the agent used in reconnaissance and sabotage activities against Ukraine.
Based on the evidence collected, SSU investigators served the woman a notice of suspicion under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason committed under martial law).
The court has chosen custody as a measure of restraint for the suspect, who is now facing life imprisonment. The investigation is ongoing.
The operation was carried out under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office.
